Finance Committee

The Finance Committee is an important financial advisory body of Oriental College (Autonomous). It assists the Governing Body in considering matters relating to budget estimates, financial resources and audited accounts of the College.

Composition of the Finance Committee

Principal

The Principal of the College shall be the Chairman of the Finance Committee.

Governing Body Nominee

One person shall be nominated by the Governing Body of the Autonomous College for a period of two years.

Senior-most Faculty Member

One senior-most faculty member of the Autonomous College shall be nominated in rotation by the Principal for a period of two years.

Finance Officer / Officer-in-Charge

The Finance Officer or Officer-in-Charge of Finance and Accounts of the Autonomous College shall serve as the Member Secretary.

Term and Meetings

Term of the Committee

The term of the Finance Committee shall be three years.

Meetings

Meetings of the Finance Committee shall be held at least once every six months.

Functions of the Finance Committee

A

Budget Estimates: Consider budget estimates relating to grants received or receivable from funding agencies, income from fees, and other sources of financial resources.

B

Audited Accounts: Consider the audited accounts relating to the grants, fees and other financial resources referred to above.

Financial Governance: The Finance Committee shall act as an advisory body to the Governing Body in matters relating to budget estimates, financial resources and audited accounts of the Autonomous College.
